How we work
Made Properly, Not Quickly
We work with a small group of specialist manufacturers who treat hardware the way it should be treated. As a piece worth getting right, not a commodity to churn out. Some of our pieces are CNC-machined from solid brass billets to a tolerance most customers will never measure but always feel in the hand. Others are sand-cast the traditional way, then handed over for finishing.
Finishing is where most hardware is let down, and where we spend the most time. Each piece passes through grinding, polishing, and either plating or patinating, and then gets inspected under bright light before it's cleared to ship. Unlacquered brass is left raw so it can age into its own patina over the years. Lacquered finishes are sealed at the end to hold their original tone for as long as possible.
We don't hold stock. Every order is made specifically for you, in the finish and size you've chosen, by people who know it's going somewhere it'll be looked at every day. It's why our lead times are measured in weeks rather than days, and it's why nothing in your order has been sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shifted.
