The ALMA Alabaster Sphere Pendant centres on a hand-finished sphere of natural Spanish alabaster, a translucent stone used in interior architecture since antiquity. Each sphere is hollowed from the inside so a single G9 LED bulb illuminates the stone from within, lighting the alabaster’s mineral veining from creamy-white to amber-streaked. No two spheres are identical: the patterning is unique to the block each one was cut from.
The sphere hangs from a solid brass canopy on a 2-metre adjustable suspension cable, allowing the fixture to drop low over a dining table or sit higher in a hallway or stairwell. Finished in Satin Brass or Matte Black to suit warmer or cooler interior schemes.
Three sizes for three room scales
- 10cm sphere: for compact rooms, bedside, hallways and reading nooks. Lighting area 3 to 5 square metres.
- 12cm sphere: the central choice for dining tables, kitchens, studies and bedrooms. Lighting area 3 to 8 square metres.
- 15cm sphere: a statement piece for larger living rooms, entrance halls, and bar counters. Lighting area 5 to 10 square metres.
Where it works
- Bedside: hung in pairs at low drop in place of bedside lamps, freeing the bedside table.
- Dining table: single 15cm or a cluster of 10cm spheres at varied heights for a sculptural arrangement.
- Kitchen island: two or three spheres in a row at uniform drop.
- Hallway and stairwell: high drop, single or stepped clusters for vertical interest.
- Bar counter and study: low pendant for focused, ambient light over a work surface.
Light quality
Choose from three colour temperatures so the fixture matches your room’s atmosphere. 3000K warm works for living and dining rooms where you want a soft, candle-like glow. 4500K natural suits kitchens, studies and offices where you want a clearer, brighter light. 6000K cool fits utility spaces and contemporary interiors where you want a clean, daylight-style illumination.
Installation
ALMA arrives fully assembled with the G9 LED bulb supplied. A qualified electrician will mount the brass canopy to a ceiling-mounted electrical box, adjust the suspension cable to your desired drop, and wire it to mains. The alabaster sphere is delicate, so handle with care during installation.
